  • COVID-19: New Restrictions

    Following on from the latest Government announcement we are happy to announce that we are re-opening from 17th May 2021 for both overnight leisure stays and food and drink. 

    You can book an overnight stay with confidence knowing that we offer free cancellations on all fully-flex rates up until 10:00am on the day prior to arrival.

  • COVID-19: Do I need to pre-pay for my room on booking?

    We require credit card details when you book our fully-flex rate but only to secure your booking. We do not ask for full payment up front. Payment for your stay and any extras you have taken whilst you are with us will be required when you check out and not before. 

  • COVID-19: Can I cancel my booking if things change?

    Yes - whilst we really hope that you won't need to cancel your booking, on our fully-flexible rate, as long as you cancel your booking before 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive, there will be no charge. If you do need to cancel simply give us a call on 01729 822203.

    Bookings cancelled after 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive will be charged for the first night’s stay. No Shows will be charged for the first night’s stay.

    The safety of our guests and team members is our number one priority so we have put in many measures across our properties to ensure our guests can feel confident when visiting and staying in our properties and our team members can feel confident working in them too.

  • COVID-19: Government Changes to VAT in Hospitality

    We can confirm that the rate at which you booked your guestroom still stands and we would like to explain the reason for this.

    The reduction in VAT is a great initiative which has been introduced to help hospitality businesses during these challenging times as per the guidance released from the Government. The full announcement can be seen here and below is a summary of the key messages:

    “The government made an announcement on 8 July 2020 allowing VAT registered businesses to apply a temporary 5% reduced rate of VAT to certain supplies relating to:

    • Hospitality
    • Hotel and holiday accommodation
    • Admissions to certain attractions

    These changes are being brought in as an urgent response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to support businesses severely affected by forced closures and social distancing measures.”

    The temporary reduced rate will apply to supplies that are made between 15 July 2020 and 31st March 2021.

    Since this announcement, the government has further extended the temporary 5% reduced rate of VAT until 30 September 2021.

    After sadly being closed for the majority of the last year and the increased costs we need to absorb in line with government guidance, our business has been severely affected by the pandemic. This initiative is a huge support to our business and the hospitality sector as a whole and it also enables us to bring more of our valued team members back off furlough.

    We hope you understand why the rate at which you booked your guestroom still stands. We hugely value your custom and support and we are really looking forward to welcoming you.   • Do you hold rooms provisionally?

    No we take a credit card to guarantee reservations and our cancellation policy then applies.

  • Can we upgrade rooms?

    Yes – larger County Rooms £10.00 additional charge per night. Character room £20.00 additional charge per night. Suite £30.00 additional charge per night. Elma suite £40.00 supplement charge per night.

  • When is check in?

    3:00 pm

  • When is check out?

    11:00 am

  • Do you offer late check out?

    We cannot guarantee late checkouts, as it is subject to availability and times requested. We do however try to do our best to accommodate where possible.

  • Is Wi-Fi available?

    Wi-Fi is now available in all rooms and all public areas.

  • Are there special rates for corporate bookings?

    Yes, however, these do need to be set up with head office and are for regular users.

  • What is offered in the guest rooms?

    Tea and coffee making facilities, en-suite bathroom with bath and/or shower and
    complimentary toiletries.

  • Do you have a room with a bath?

    Most of our rooms are fitted with walk-in showers; if you would specifically like a bath, please call us when making your room reservation.

  • Do you have travel cots/Z-beds available? Do you charge for it?

    Yes, we have a limited supply and there is no charge other than an additional £6.00 to cover the breakfast allocation.

  • Do you serve breakfast?

    Our full Lancashire breakfast is served from 7.00 am - 9.30 am during mid-week and 8.00 am - 10.00 am at weekends – but if you would like an earlier breakfast, please ask and we’ll do our best to accommodate this.

  • What time is food served?

    We serve from 12 noon till 9.30 pm Monday to Saturday and then from 12 noon till 9:00 pm on Sundays. Our dining areas do get busy so if you would like us to reserve a table for you please just ask.

  • What are the bar's opening times?

    The bar opens from 11:00 am - 11:00 pm Monday to Thursday
    11:00 am - Midnight Friday to Saturday

  • Is private dining available?

    Yes - we can offer private dining for celebrations and events.

  • Is car parking available?

    On-site complimentary car parking available. Approximately 42 places.

  • Are pets allowed?

    No – We’re sorry but we are only able to accept working dogs.

  • Is there disabled access?

    We have an allocated disabled parking space by the front door and there is a small ramp on the right-hand side for easy access; All the doors into the main building are double doors to allow ease of access in a wheelchair.

  • Is there a meeting room?

    Yes – we can offer a meeting room for up to 12 people and will organise catering with you
    as needed.

  • What facilities are provided for wedding guests?

    Late bar and late food on request. If you're looking for a location for a larger group ask about taking over all of the Millstone for the night.

  • Can you organise packed lunches for the morning? What do we get and how much does it cost?

    We’re happy to provide picnics for you to take when you’re for the day, just ask for details -
    £10.00 per person

  • What is your cancellation policy?
